Altair Thinklabs at the 2014 IDSA National Conference

The 2014 Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) conference was held from August 13-16 in Austin, Texas. Altair was a proud sponsor of the event, represented by team members from solidThinking and Altair Thinklabs. On Thursday, August 14th, Altair Thinklabs presented work done in response to U.S. Paralympian Blake Leeper’s challenge – “What’s next?” regarding future advancement in running prosthetics. The project was unveiled for attendees of the Eastman Innovation Breakfast, an invitation-only premier event held during the IDSA conference.

IDSA is the world’s oldest, largest, member-driven society for industrial design. The society represents professionals in product design, interaction design, human factors, ergonomics, design research, and many more design-related fields. It boasts over 3,000 members in 30 professional chapters across the United States and around the world. IDSA provides a great platform and opportunity for design professionals to network, collaborate, and promote their most ground-breaking design work.

Additional contributors represented Ford, IBM, Dell, Kickstarter, and many prominent universities like Arizona State and Carnegie Mellon. Conference attendees could interact directly with presenters through Exchange Pods and Workshops occurring throughout the conference. Speaker presentations will soon be available online.

Altair Thinklabs will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, September 10th 1:00 PM EDT (10:00 AM PDT) to profile their design approach to the Blake Leeper challenge. Click here to register!
