Team supported by Altair overcomes crash, still fast enough for a come-from-behind victory over top rivals!
This past weekend, Artemis Racing had a breakthrough performance off the coast of Bermuda, overcoming significant damage to their catamaran from a collision with an umpire boat, and still managing an overall victory in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series stopover in Bermuda. Even after making quick make-shift repairs to the damaged hull, the high-performance catamaran was still fast enough to defeat rivals from OracleBMW and Team New Zealand in the three-race event, proving the team is a top contender to win the America’s Cup.
The full story, including images and video of the crash and recovery, is certainly worth reading from the Sail-World website stories below:
Altair is proud to be an Official Technical Supplier to Artemis Racing, and even more to be associated with the type of resilient and talented team of sailors and design professionals that can perform under adversity like those at Artemis Racing. We congratulate Artemis on their victory, and look forward to supporting the team in their quest to win the America’s Cup.
