Competition in the MBD Space Heats Up According to New Article from CIMdata

Last week I was in Chicago for a workshop organized by CIMdata on Simulation-Driven Systems Development: Challenges, Strategies, Tools & Best Practices for Business Success. During the two days a broad range of topics related to simulation-driven system development have been discussed, giving an opportunity to OEMs and Tiers to share their thoughts and challenges with PLM vendors. We covered a lot of ground and had a number of fruitful conversations on digital twin, standards and connectors, semantic web and – in general – on how trends like IoT and Industry 4.0 are impacting product design and model-based development.

The workshop also gave Altair a chance to review with CIMdata a commentary they recently published. According to CIMdata, Altair has grown into a multi-physics systems modeling and simulation platform provider that can compete toe-to-toe with the major PLM market leaders and has the potential to be a disruptive force in their targeted industry segments. Read more of their commentary here including key takeaways and analysis of our Model-Based Design (MBD) solutions.
