Altair hosted a successful PBS Works User Group meeting on May 22-25 at the Innevation Center in Las Vegas, NV. This four-day event was the global user event of the year for PBS Professional and other PBS Works products. It included 2 days of user presentations and 2 days of hands-on workshops.
The meeting brought together HPC thought-leaders, expert users, PBS Works engineers and Altair executives to explore and discuss the unique challenges facing HPC users today. Attendees learned about the latest PBS Works enhancements and functionalities and received valuable tips, and insights that thoroughly justified their participation.
The event gathered 75 attendees. Altair engineers, developers and account manager engaged with elite customers and partners including Boeing, Caterpillar, Chevron, Dell EMC, DOD, Navy, Intel and more. Our keynote speaker Les Ottolenghi, EVP & Chief Information Officer, Caesars Palace Entertainment gave an impressive presentation on how HPC is utilized in the gambling industry.
During the event, Altair hosted a tour of the Switch Data Center known as the most secure data center in North America. “The Switch Data Center was like nothing I had ever seen before, the security alone at this facility was fascinating,” said a PBSUG attendee.
In addition to the 4-day meeting, Altair hosted an evening reception where attendees could network with other PBS Works users and Altair partners. The reception was a huge hit that included entertainment by an Elvis impersonator and a Magician that stole the show.
