Altair is honored to have two recent user successes presented at the 2015 HPC User Forum in Norfolk, Virginia from April 13th to April 15th!
This year, Project Engineer Sarah Storms from Lockheed Martin will be presenting “A New MLS Initiative” at the conference, where Lockheed Martin worked with Altair to deploy a cross-domain security version of PBS Professional® for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which enables the use of a single system by users at multiple security levels. The PBS Professional® solution enabled Lockheed Martin to consolidate HPC systems, saving millions and improving system utilization and efficiency. According to Lockheed Martin, “Ultimately, the cost savings to the government is huge.”
NSCEE Executive Director Joseph Lombardo from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas will also present on “HPC and Alzheimer’s Research,” discussing how the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment switched to PBS Professional® to manage its HPC environment. PBS Professional’s simplified installation and configuration were cited as key differentiators, along with Altair’s first-rate support and responsiveness as a trusted vendor. Implementation highlights include an improvement in time to results for genome processing, with simplified workload management and powerful customization capabilities.
Both success stories are available to download online.
The HPC User Forum has grown to 150 members since 1999 and holds annual meetings in the U.S. and worldwide. Members gather at the conferences to promote High Performance Computing (HPC) and address issues in the industry.
The three-day conference includes presentations focused on HPC in several industries with an impressive list of speakers. Global meeting presentations are available to download online – take a look at the agenda and register today!
