Last week over 800 of the best and brightest individuals working in the 3D printing/additive manufacturing field gathered in Jacksonville Florida to attend the Additive Manufacturing User Group Conference (AMUG). Over the course of the conference there were a large amount of great presentations discussing the current state and future potential of the industry.
My colleague, Jaideep Bangal, Senior Application Engineer for Inspire had the honor to present on the synergies of optimization technology and 3D printing. His presentation included a quick demo of Inspire, as well as multiple case studies showing real-world applications of optimization technology helping companies design parts for 3D Printing.
The solidThinking team also had a booth at the AMUGexpo, which was widely popular with attendees who stopped by to see demos of the latest version of Inspire and Evolve. Talking to attendees, it was great to see the recognition of Inspire by the industry experts. It was even amazing to see other booths at the expo displaying parts that has been designed in Inspire. We even heard a couple of presentations that mentioned our technology! solidThinking Inspire is quickly becoming THE GoTo tool when it comes to designing lightweight optimized parts for additive manufacturing.
Overall, the conference was great; it was wonderful to see the excitement around this fast-moving industry. 3D printing opens the doors for engineers to be imaginative, and create, generate, and manufacture the most efficient geometries possible. Just a few years ago, this would not have been feasible. The solidThinking team will continue to attend the AMUG conference for years to come to not only learn about the new and exciting technologies presented at the show, but also to share our own.
