Altair hosted its largest Holiday “Thanksgiving” Potluck yet at HQ on Thursday, November 16, with over 160 unique and diverse dishes brought in by Altairians and different restaurants in and around Troy!
At this special time of year, our employees get to celebrate our unique culture with dishes ranging from traditional turkey to authentic foods from India, Italy, China, South Africa and so many more! The theme and décor usually center around Fall and Thanksgiving; however, when holidays from various countries fall on the same day, such as India’s Diwali, we include some of their traditions into our holiday theme and décor.
Our CEO and his wife choose the day to make sure they are in town and can bring in a special homemade dish and socialize with the employees.
Veteran employees enjoy the “family reunion” feeling of it.
Remote employees and employees from our satellite offices plan their annual meetings around this incredible event just so they can partake.
Altair provides the beverages and two main courses, the rest is up to the employees. There is so much teamwork in putting this even together and it’s worth every minute.
Everyone ends up being pleasantly surprised and excited to try new things, share recipes, and enjoy each-others company. We don’t leave anyone out either – if employees were too busy, we let them join in for a small donation….and others would simply bring more food, voluntarily! It’s quite the grand experience and group effort!
And finally, there are the LEFTOVERS!!! We do actually have them – because you can only eat so much food and there is so much of it!
